Unlike any solid-state microphone amplifier, all of the AL Active gain is concentrated in the transformer itself, completely eliminating noise. A transparent, neutral buffer, placed after the transformer, decouples the signal from the cable and the preamplifier input. The sound travels through the entire signal chain, preserving its original three-dimensionality and clarity, without any sonic interference. All gain is achieved via the same high-end toroidal transformer used in every Samar Audio ribbon microphone. With an optimal 10 kΩ load impedance—ideal for passive microphones—it delivers an open, natural sound; the AL Active becomes a physical extension of the microphone, achieving an effective, transparent, natural, pure, and simple setup.
