Description
The Black Lion Bluey FET is a modified “Blue Stripe” compressor based on Chris Lord-Alge’s golden unit. When certain components became unavailable, the technicians were forced to modify the circuit, creating a unique compressor that has been heard on countless hits
We also added an active wet/dry mix to facilitate parallel compression, as well as a stereo link. Bluey was designed with a vintage-inspired PCB layout, 1% resistors, polyester capacitors, and a linear power supply, which means Bluey is built to last. And like all Black Lion products, Bluey is assembled and tested by hand.
The vintage-inspired PCB design and high-end components capture the analogue warmth associated with the original design, complete with classic-style VU metering. It can also be linked in stereo, and each unit has been tested and calibrated by hand to ensure optimal acoustic performance.
