NTV KINO

Film &Post-Production Complex. Moscow, Russia (2012)

The first cinema mixing-room specially designed for Dolby Atmos mixing and reproduction has Reflexion Arts monitors. Designed by Philip Newell in 2012, achieved the unthinkable: The Dolby Premier Certification in just over 24 hours.

On the front wall of all three post-production rooms the new Reflexion Arts 240M monitors have been flush-mounted, driven by RA Studio I power amps, manufactured exclusively for Reflexion Arts by Neva Audio in Russia.

4 RA BX1 subwoofers, 5 RA234 monitors, flushed-mounted on the wall, behind the screen and 34 RA SU108 monitors for surround: in total, 75 Reflexion Arts monitors have been installed in the complex. All rooms amplification is done via Reflexion Arts  Studio I or II, manufactured by Neva Audio and Neva Audio NA3200 amps driving the subwoofers.

The Foley control-room with a window that allows visual contact to the Foley room, where an authentic pool is located, has been equipped with two RA239 for Left & Right with a RA244 centre monitor specially designed by Newell for over the window positioning. It’s a wider than usual monitor, which includes the axis-symmetrical AX2 horn in the acoustic center between two 12″ JBL 2213H. The room has only 6 RA SU108 monitors for surround.

In the picture quality control-room, a system consisting of 3 RA239 monitors and two RABX1 subwoofers has been installed with 12 RA SU108 for surround. As in the Atmos room, a Barco projector provides the possibility of mixes of films that do not require more than 7.1.
